Step 1: New battery and some fuel. Maybe I’ll get lucky and it will just start up.
Step 2: Fire it up! Chugga, Chugga, Chugga! Damn it. I guess it’s something else.
Step 3: Ok Google, how do I diagnose why my K-Jet cranks but will not start
Lack of fuel pressure Test the fuel pump and pre-pump.Perform a pressure and volume test.
Airflow sensor that is jammed and/or stickingRemove the airflow boot and loosen center hose on the fuel distributor to relieve control pressure.Apply pressure with finger tip placed on the centerbolt. Also check for proper centering and rest height.
Auxillary air valve sticking If you need to press down on accelerator pedal to keep running, this is highly suspect.
Cold start injector not opening Self explainatory.
Defective thermo-time switch This is one of the most common causes for your cold start injector to not work.
Control plunger sticking(below fuel distributor) If this sticks, chances are the plate and arm will be stuck also.
Restricted injectors For this to happen though, the injectors have to be severely restricted.
Well, how about I start by changing the spark plugs (what do the “experts” know?). And so off I went to get replacement spark plugs. With all 8 fitted, it was time to try again …
Go back to step 2 and try again.
Perhaps I should take that list more seriously? How about I check if there’s any fuel coming out of the fuel lines and injectors?
Ahah! There’s nothing coming out. Time to order a new fuel pump and filter.

I am a genius!! This is going to work for sure!
I’m going to try start it up.
…
Go back to step 2. WTF??
Maybe it’s time to get a professional in.
